TeachesBeyond Words: Writing Great ProseUsing examples, discussion, and in-class revision we will explore how to take our prose from adequate to artful, our content from competent to compelling, and our influence from emotional to eternal. Marketing Continuing Class For authors with at least one book out, who have already promoted a book, we’ll look at going to the next level of marketing. This includes harnessing the power of the Internet (what really works in social networks, twitter parties, and blogs); how to develop a marketing plan that will connect readers to your book/topic; media strategies that make hosts want to book you and people to want to purchase; and becoming an expert in your field. We’ll look at one-day and release specials for Amazon, viral approaches to spread the word about you and your book, and direct marketing strategies. Each day will include brainstorming exercises to apply that day’s topics to your marketing plan. |
